Albuquerque, N.M.- The Baylor women's golf team will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete at the Dick McGuire Invitational. The 6,069-yard par-73 UNM Championship Course will host Baylor, BYU, California, Colorado State, Hawai'i, New Mexico State, Ohio State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, South Carolina, Southern California, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UNLV and UTEP.
Baylor has competed at the invitational every year since 2000. Their best finish came in 2001 finishing fourth (299-296-299=894). Georgia took both the team and individual titles in 2004, and Georgia's Kelly Froelich led the tournament at two under (68-73-68=209).
Baylor is coming off an outstanding tournament last week at the Ptarmigan/Ram Classic. Sophomore Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) (73-67-70=210) and Senior Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden) (70-68-72=210) tied for first place giving the Bears their 13th tournament title.
Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) gave an outstanding performance completing the tournament tied for 10th with a 218(71-71-76), while senior Sherry Summers (Montgomery, Texas) finished tied for 19th (73-73-77=223) and senior Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) shot 75-71-79=225 to finish tied for 25th.
