The 26th ranked Baylor women's golf team will travel to Southern Pines, N.C., to play in the 2002 Pine Needles Collegiate Nov. 4-5 at the Pine Needles Golf Course. It is a two-day, 56-hole tournament. Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday and the Bears will play the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The traveling five consists of senior Melanie Hagewood, junior Kelli McKandless, junior Michaelyn Morgan, senior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson and freshman Josefin Svenningsson.
Freshman Erin Bradford will also be traveling to the tournament to compete individually.
The 11-team field includes host school NC State, Baylor, James Madison, Miami, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Richmond, Rollins, Stetson, UNC and Yale.
The Pine Needles Golf Course is a 6,017-yard, par-71 course situated in Southern Pines, N.C. A shotgun start will open play Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. A shotgun start is scheduled for Tuesday with groups beginning play on the first and 10th holes at 8:00 a.m.
The Bears are coming off a first-place finish at the Adidas Fall Invitational in Port. St. Lucie, Fla. This is the final tournament for the Bears. They will resume play on February 24-25 when they will travel to Parrish, Fla. to play in the Central District Invitational hosted by Michigan St. and Northwestern.
