Bears set program record with three first team selections
The 2011 soccer season was one to remember.
1,253 student-athletes have earned bachelor's degree since joining Big 12 Conference.
The Bears held their annual awards banquet in the Stone Room at the Ferrell Center.
The three Academic All-District first-team members are the most in program history.
2009 (Sophomore): Appeared in six games ... Had a 0.62 GAA ... Made seven saves on the season ... Played 65 minutes and helped preserve a shutout in a 0-0 tie with North Dakota State (8/28) ... Made two saves to hold shutout versus Lamar (8/23) ... Collected a pair of saves in a 4-0 win over McNeese State (9/4) while playing 45 minutes ... Played 45 minutes and helped pitch a shutout over UTSA (9/20).
2008 (Redshirt Freshman): First-team Academic All-Big 12 selection... Named to the 2008 Big 12 All-Newcomer team... Appeared in 13 games, making one start... Had a 1.27 GAA... Took part in six shutouts... Made four saves in the second half and both overtimes of a 0-0 game at Texas State (9/26)... Made six saves in one half of work in a 1-0 win at Nebraska (10/5)... Made seven saves in a 1-0 loss at Texas Tech (10/10)... Collected four saves at Colorado (10/12).
2007 (freshman): Redshirted
High School: Graduated from Plano (Texas) East High School... Lettered for four seasons in soccer... Helped lead team to the first round of the playoffs as a senior... Earned all-region honors as a junior... Named Plano East Female Athlete of the Year her senior year... Three-time selection as Goalkeeper of the Year... Coached in high school by Susan Peel... Played club soccer for eight seasons in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League... Helped lead team to three consecutive league titles... Coached in club soccer by Kenny Medina... Member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Born Sept. 22, 1988, in Plano, Texas... Parents are Sonny and Connie Seelhorst... Majoring in health science studies.
