PORTLAND, Ore. -- Washington scored three goals within a seven minute period in the second half as the Huskies managed a 4-0 victory over the Baylor soccer team in action at the Portland Nike Invitational. With the loss, Baylor falls to 1-4-1 on the season as Washington improves to 4-2-0 on the year.
Washington would grab the lead in the 35th minute as Melissa Beal scored an unassisted goal to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
The Huskies would blow the game open within a seven minute span in the second half as Beal's second goal of the game in the 64th minute set up a scoring outburst.
After Beal's second goal, Jenna Robison scored on a penalty kick in the 69th minute as Katy Dowling connected just 83 seconds later as the Huskies built a 4-0 lead.
Baylor was unable to score the rest of the way as Kelsey Rasmussen and Taylor Carr combined in goal for Washington to record the shutout.
The loss ended a five game road swing for the Bears as Baylor will return home for a contest against UT-San Antonio on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7:00 p.m.
