WACO, Texas – Baylor soccer (6-1-1) welcomes No. 5 West Virginia (7-2-0) and Iowa State (2-6-1) to Waco, opening Big 12 play with the Mountaineers on Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. before facing Iowa State on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.

Baylor broke out with a 4-1 win over SMU last Sunday in Dallas, posting its highest goal count in a road match since 2015.

Friday’s match is the program’s annual scarf night, with the first 250 fans receiving a free Baylor soccer scarf. Additionally, the match is serving as #SicCancer night, raising awareness for childhood cancer. Local children from the McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple will be recognized and walk out with the team during starting lineups.

For the first time in program history, all home matches will feature a live streaming video and radio broadcast, available to subscribers on BaylorBears.com/allaccess.

Baylor has also partnered with La Mejor Waco (106.1 FM) to offer a Spanish radio simulcast of all eight Baylor soccer home matches.

* Baylor took the 40th spot in the first RPI rankings of the 2017 season, the first top-100 ranking and the highest opening ranking for the Bears since opening up the 2013 ranks at No. 34.

* Baylor is still looking for it’s first win over the Mountaineers, gaining its best results over WVU in the programs’ first meeting back in 2012, a 1-1 draw in Morgantown. BU trails in the all-time series, 0-4-1.

* Baylor looks to avenge a 2016 loss to the Cyclones, with Baylor still maintaining a 14-7-2 record in the all-time series.
