WACO, Texas - No. 20 Baylor fell to No. 22 BYU 2-1 at Betty Lou Mays Field Friday night to close out the Bears' (8-2-1) non-conference play. BYU (6-3-1) scored a goal in each half to win the first ever meeting between the two teams.

BYU took a one-nil lead in the first half on a goal by Cloee Colohan in the 30th minute off a free kick in the box. Baylor countered in the second half with a goal from Bri Campos to even the score at 1-1 in the 52nd minute of the match. The Baylor goal came off of a free kick taken 20 yards out and found the top left corner of the net. BYU scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute on a well-executed sequence that resulted in Collette Jepson Smith scoring a goal off passes from Colohan and Sarah Chambers.

Baylor had several chances near the end of play, including a near miss from Campos on an attempted bicycle kick in the penalty area that ended up missing high. BYU narrowly led in shots 12-10 and shots on goal 6-5. Baylor led in corner kicks 9-2.

5 - The number of goals Bri Campos has this season, two more than her total from her entire freshman 2012 season.

"It was a great game. We have to get everyone playing well at the same time. Everyone is playing hard, but not everyone is playing well at the same moment. We need a little bit more consistency of them playing well. It was a great performance from Bri Campos tonight." - Co-Head Coach Marci Jobson

Baylor resumes Big 12 play next weekend as the Bears face Texas in Austin on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. CT and then return home to host No. 14 Texas Tech on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. on FSN Southwest.
