BOULDER, Colo.-The Baylor soccer team grabbed an early lead against Colorado; however, was unable to hold on as the Buffaloes rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Bears in action at the Pleasant View Soccer Complex. With the loss, Baylor falls to 4-8-2 on the season, 1-5-1 in the Big 12 Conference as Colorado improves to 9-4-2, 2-3-1 in Big 12 play.
Ginny Rosario-Tull put the Bears on the board first, scoring in the 36th minute. The senior forward worked around the defense and put a low shot past Colorado goalkeeper Jessica Keller to give Baylor the 1-0 lead.
The goal marked the first of the season and the 22nd of her career for Rosario-Tull as the forward ranks fourth on Baylor's all-time list.
Trailing 1-0 after halftime, Colorado responded with two second half goals to secure the win. The Buffaloes tied the game when Fran Munnelly connected on a penalty kick in the 68th minute.
Colorado then grabbed the lead with only 12 minutes remaining, as Ashlie Mihalcin scored her seventh goal of the season on a header off a pass from Allie True as the Buffaloes held on for the win.
Baylor goalie Ashley Holder made four saves in the loss as Keller recorded two saves in the victory.
Colorado held an 18-9 advantage in shots and had a 7-2 edge on corner kicks during the contest.
The loss marked the sixth time this season Baylor has lost by only one goal.
Baylor will look to rebound from the loss when the Bears face No. 22 Nebraska on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1:00 p.m. in Lincoln, Neb.
