BOULDER, Colo. -- Nikki Marshall's goal in the 16th minute was all the Colorado soccer team would need as the Buffaloes claimed a 1-0 victory over the Baylor soccer team in action at Prentup Field on Sunday. With the loss, Baylor falls to 6-10-1, 3-6-0 in conference play while Colorado improves to 10-5-2, 4-4-1 in Big 12 action, with the win.
Despite the loss, Baylor qualifies for the Big 12 Conference Championships due to losses by Iowa State (at Texas) and Texas Tech (at Kansas) on Sunday.
Colorado would get all the scoring it needed in the 16th minute as Marshall took a pass from Allie True and blasted a shot that deflected off of the post and into the goal from 18 yards out to give Colorado a one-goal lead.
Baylor was unable to match the goal as Colorado goalkeeper Kristin Radlinski made a pair of spectacular, diving saves in the second half to preserve the victory.
Colorado held a 17-10 edge in shots while the Buffaloes held a 12-7 advantage in corner kicks.
Ashley Holder played well in goal for the Bears in the loss as the junior goalkeeper made seven saves on the afternoon.
Radlinski made three saves in goal for the Buffaloes to pick up the shutout victory.
Baylor will close out the regular season on Friday, Oct. 27, as the Bears travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech at 7:00 p.m.
