The Baylor soccer program welcomed back over 100 special guests, as alumni, current players, current/former coaches, parents, administrators and some surprise visitors enjoyed a return to the Baylor campus.
"This was a great event and a wonderful opportunity to bring Baylor's past, present and future together," head coach Marci Jobson said. "Our alumni are a huge part of the Baylor program and we wanted to honor and thank them properly."
All in attendance were treated to a luncheon by the B-Association at the Floyd Galloway Suites, with the highlight coming with the honoring of the 1998 Big 12 Championship team, the first Baylor program to win a conference title.
Following the luncheon, the alumni took the field for a very competitive match, which ended regulation in a 2-2 tie with the older alumni coming out on top over the younger alums in penalty kicks.
Before the match, the crowd was treated to hear from some very special guest speakers, including: Carli Lloyd, who scored the game winning goal in the 2008 Olympic soccer final to secure a US gold medal, David Eldridge (first club coach at Baylor), Randy Waldrum (first coach and coach of 1998 Big 12 champs), Ian McCaw (Baylor Athletics Director), Marci Jobson and Walter Abercrombie (B-Association).
