WACO, Texas -- Baylor soccer released its 2017 fall schedule on Monday. The slate features eight home matches, games against eight 2016 NCAA Tournament foes, three 2016 conference champions, and 12 of the 18 teams finished with a record of .500 or better last season.

The Bears will hosts two exhibition games in Waco (Aug. 6 vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Aug. 11 vs. Abilene Christian) before beginning the season with home matches against ULL on Aug. 18 and Wyoming on Aug. 20.
BU does not leave the state of Texas for its first seven matches. The Bears' first road weekend is Aug. 25 at Rice and Aug. 27 at Houston Baptist (conference tournament champion, NCAA first round) before returning to host UTSA on Sept. 1 and Ball State (conference champion) on Sept. 3.
Baylor's first venture outside of Texas comes in Portland, Oregon as the Bears face Portland on Sept. 8 and Washington on Sept. 10, both in Portland. BU continues its longest road swing of the season with a road match at SMU (NCAA first round) on Sept. 17.
The Bears return home to open up the first weekend of Big 12 Conference play with matches against West Virginia (conference champion, national runner up) on Sept. 22 and Iowa State on Sept. 24.
BU's first conference road weekend is Sept. 29 at Oklahoma (NCAA second round) and Oct. 1 at Oklahoma State (NCAA second round).
After an Oct. 6 home tilt vs. Texas Tech (NCAA first round), the Bears hit the road again with an Oct. 13 match at Kansas State and Oct. 15 match at Kansas (NCAA second round).
Baylor finishes the regular season with a home game vs. Texas on Oct. 20 and road game at TCU (NCAA first round) on Oct. 27.
The Big 12 Soccer Championship will commence on Nov. 1, and a champion will be crowned on Nov. 5. The tournament will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, with all matches being played at Swope Soccer Village, hosted by Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. The Bears will then be looking to compete in the NCAA Tournament, which will begin on Nov. 10 at campus sites.
BU is coming off a 12-7-1 (4-3-1 Big 12) campaign in 2016 in which their season ended at the Big 12 Championship. No. 3 seed Baylor topped No. 6 Oklahoma State before falling to No. 7 seed TCU. The Bears return 25 players, including seven starters, while welcoming nine newcomers for the 2017 season.
