Soccer Hosts Pair Of Matches

The Baylor soccer team (1-0-1) will look to remain undefeated, hosting a pair of matches this weekend at Betty Lou Mays Field. The Bears will welcome Cal State Northridge (0-1-0) Friday at 7:00 p.m. and UTSA (0-2-0) Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

"We learned a lot about ourselves last weekend," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We have had a good week of practice, and it's a good thing because these are two very good teams we have coming to our house."

Baylor is coming off a 1-1 tie at Nebraska on Aug. 21 and a 3-0 home-opening win against Sam Houston State on Aug. 19. Seven different players have recorded a point, with four goal scorers and three players notching assists.

Cal State Northridge enters after a 2-0 loss at home to No. 9 UCLA on. Aug. 19. The Matadors lead the all-time series 1-0 after defeating BU 2-1 in Northridge on Sept. 14, 2007.

UTSA will tackle SMU in Dallas Friday before battling the Bears, who hold a 4-0-1 advantage over the Roadrunners. UTSA fell to No. 17 UC Irvine (2-1) and Fresno State (4-0) last weekend. Baylor defeated UTSA 4-0 in its last meeting, Sept. 3, 2010 in Waco.

Each game will have a live audio broadcast, as Heath Nielsen and Kyle Cornish return for the fourth-straight season with pre-game for all matches will beginning approximately 10 minutes before kick-off.

Friday will be Family Fun Night, as fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for $20. Sunday is Kids Free Sunday with children 12 and under receiving free admission.
