The Baylor soccer team (1-0-1) will look to continue its undefeated ways as it hosts North Dakota State (0-1) Friday night at Betty Lou Mays Field beginning at 7:00 p.m. The contest will mark the first between the two programs.
"We had a good opening weekend," head coach Marci Jobson said. "But we still have a long ways to go, and we will just keep taking these games one at a time and look to improve in every area."
The Bears are coming off a weekend that saw them earn a 1-1 tie at Rice and pick up their first win of the season over Lamar, 3-0. Freshman Hanna Gilmore registered two goals and two assists over the two-game span, picking up Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.
Gilmore leads the Baylor attack with six points, while junior Lotto Smith has three after recording one goal and one assist thus far. Baylor has attempted 50 shots in the first two games after registering just 184 during the 2008 season.
The Bison enter the contest after falling to Drake, 2-1 in overtime on Aug. 21. Senior Lorraine Thomson scored the lone goal for NDSU, who was picked to finish fourth in the Summit League this season.
Friday night is Family Night, as you can get four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for $20.
