The Baylor soccer team (5-1-0) will play its sixth home game of the season as it hosts New Mexico (4-0-2) beginning at 7:00 p.m. Friday night at Betty Lou Mays Field.

"New Mexico is an outstanding team and a great opponent," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We are going to have to be playing at a high level, but I know our kids are excited about the opportunity to play in front of our home crowd."

The Bears are coming off a pair of home victories last weekend, defeating UTSA, 4-0 on Friday and disposing of Houston, 1-0 on Sunday. Sophomores Hanna Gilmore and Lisa Sliwinski are tied for the lead in the Big 12 Conference in goals (five) and points (12). As a team, the Bears lead the conference in shots (119), goals (20), goals per game (3.33) and assists (19). The defense has also been stellar, ranking tied for first in the Big 12 with five shutouts.

New Mexico enters after a 1-1 weekend that saw the Lobos defeat New Mexico State, 1-0 at home before traveling to North Texas for a 1-1 tie to the Mean Green. New Mexico is outscoring its opponents, 14-3, as Jennifer Williams leads the offense with three goals and three assists.

The only time Baylor has met the Lobos was a 2-0 loss at New Mexico on Aug. 28, 2008.

Friday will be Family Fun Night, as fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for $20.
