The Baylor soccer team (3-0-2) will wrap up its season long three-game road trip when it takes on North Texas (3-1-0) Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Denton, Texas. The Bears will then return home to face Louisville (2-2) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field.
"This weekend is going to be a huge test for our team," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We are playing two very good teams so it will certainly be a measuring stick to tell us where we are as a team."
The Bears are coming off a pair of road victories against McNeese State (4-0) and Louisiana-Lafayette (3-1) this past weekend. Baylor is led by freshman Hanna Gilmore's three goals and two assists, as eight of the team's 11 goals this season have been scored by freshmen.
The Mean Green enter the contest riding a wave of momentum after beating Texas Tech 2-1 last weekend in overtime. It was the third straight victory over a Big 12 opponent over the past two seasons. Baylor leads the all-time series 4-2, however North Texas took last season's contest in Waco, 2-0.
Louisville enters the weekend following a 2-0 win over Saint Louis on Sunday at Cardinal Park to clinch a second-place finish in the Courtyard by Marriott Airport Cardinal Classic. Junior Caitlin Rehder and sophomore Giselle Mangal finished with one goal and one assist each in the win over SLU. It will mark the first ever meeting between the two programs.
Sunday is Kids Free Sunday presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, as all children 12 and under will receive free admission to the game. In addition, there will be a team autograph session following the game.
