WACO, Texas - One day after being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, Baylor senior Tamura Crawley was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week, the publication announced Wednesday.
Crawley, a senior defender, scored two goals and assisted on a third last week -- all during limited time at the front while moved from her usual spot on defense. Crawley led the Bears to overtime wins at Rice (2-1) and against Southwest Texas (3-2).
Friday night, her goal with 11:17 remaining in the game tied the match at 1-1 as the Bears went on to win in overtime. Two nights later, Crawley repeated her feat, scoring with 8:13 left on the clock to again tie the game and force overtime. In the second overtime period, she assisted on the game-winning goal as the Bears improved to 4-0 on the season.
Through four games, Crawley is tied for the team lead in goals, assists and points -- while having started each of the Bears' four games on defense. The three-time All-Big 12 selection gives the Bears a National Team of the Week selection for the third straight year; Gina Castellano was so honored in September 2000, and Ryan Lee was selected in October 2001.

Baylor hosts McNeese State in a rare mid-week game Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. The Bears then hit the road this weekend to play at Arizona State Friday night and at Northern Arizona Sunday afternoon.
