BAYLOR SOCCER FACES IOWA STATE AND MISSOURI IN BIG 12 ACTION
WACO, Texas - The Baylor soccer team returns to Big 12 Conference action this weekend, wrapping up a five-game home-stand against Iowa State on Friday, Sept. 29, at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to Columbia, Mo., to face Missouri on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 1:00 p.m.
"This weekend will be one of the key weekends of the season," head coach George Van Linder said. "Iowa State and Missouri present plenty of challenges; however, I think the team is ready to go out and do their best in order to come away with some positive results."
Baylor enters the weekend with a record of 3-6-1, 0-2-0 in Big 12 play, after suffering a pair of one-goal losses to nationally-ranked Texas and Texas A&M. Anna Schuch leads the way for Baylor, leading the team with four goals and one assist on the year.
The Cyclones enter the weekend in fourth-place in the Big 12 Conference with a record of 5-6-0, 1-0-0 in Big 12 play. Iowa State is led by Brittanie Waddell, who leads the team with four goals and one assist on the season. Last weekend, Iowa State knocked off Nebraska in overtime after defeating North Dakota State by the score of 2-0 earlier in the week.
The Tigers, who opened the season with seven straight wins, enter the weekend with a record of 8-2-0, 0-1-0 in Big 12 play after falling to Nebraska and defeating Illinois State last week. Ashley Hamblin leads the Tigers heading into the weekend as the sophomore leads the team with five goals and five assists on the season.
Last season, Baylor picked up a 2-1 victory over Iowa State in Waco while dropping a 2-1 decision at the hands of the Tigers. Baylor leads the overall series with Iowa State, 7-3-1, while the Tigers own a 7-5 all-time advantage over the Bears. The Tigers have won five straight against the Bears with Baylor's last victory over Missouri coming on Nov. 1, 2000 (4-3, OT).

Anna Schuch leads the Bears heading into the weekend as the senior forward leads the team with four goals, one assist and nine points on the year.
Baylor leads the all-time series against Iowa State, 7-3-1, while Missouri holds a slight 7-5 series edge against the Bears.
