Quick Notes
Baylor is 6-0 at home and has allowed only one goal at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field this season.
Overall, BU is undefeated in its last 12 games dating back to a loss at 15th-ranked Long Beach State on Aug. 26.
Baylor is currently on an eight-match home win streak. The last loss for the Bears at home came on Oct. 21, 2011 versus No. 2 Oklahoma State, 1-0. The current streak ties for the second longest in program history. During the 1997 and 1998 seasons, BU won 13 straight at home. Since 2010, the Bears are 25-3-3 at home. Head coach Marci Jobson's complete home record is 34-10-6.
The Bears lead the Big 12 in every offensive statistical category: shots (362, 22.62), points (105, 6.56), goals (38), goals per game (2.38), assists (29) and assists per game (1.81).
BU has outshot its opposition by a 362-96 margin and outscored them 38-8 in its 16 games this fall. The Bears are averaging 22.62 shots per contest with 41.2 percent of those coming on goal.
On the defensive end, Baylor has allowed the fewest goals (8) and has the best goals against average (0.47) in the league. The Bears also lead the Big 12 with 10 shutouts in 16 games, giving them a shutout percentage of .620.
Baylor is one of only three teams in the nation to be top-19 in scoring offense (19th, 2.38 gpg), goals against average (6th, .469) and shutout percentage (9th, 62.5%).
This season, 17 BU players have at least two points, while 15 have at least one goal and 13 have one assist.
At 11-1-4 (.813), the Bears are off to their best start during Jobson's tenure. That mark just trails the best record through 16 games in program history as the 1996 squad was 13-2-1(.844). In each of the last three seasons, the Bears have opened at least 6-1-1.
Four of Baylor's last six games have gone to overtime, including three straight. For the season, Baylor has played seven overtime games, going 2-1-4 in those matches. The seven OT matches tie for the most in a single season, after the 2009 squad also had seven.
For a second straight week, Baylor is at No. 20 in the National Soccer Coaches Association and the Soccer America polls. BU is also ranked No. 22 in the Soccer Times poll, while placing 20th in the CollegeSportsMadness.com rankings. In TopDrawerSoccer.com's projection of the NCAA Championship field, Baylor is No. 21. In the fourth edition of the NCAA RPI rankings, the Bears are still the top Big 12 team at No. 15.
