WACO, Texas - The Baylor soccer team placed three student-athletes on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District ® team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.
Seniors Dana Larsen and Lisa Sliwinski were tabbed for the first team, while Carlie Davis was a second-team honoree. All three players have been Academic All-Big 12 first-team members for the last three seasons.
During head coach Marci Jobson's five-year tenure, the Bears have had 15 student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors. In the program's previous 12 years, it had 10 players named.
Larsen, who was named to the first team for the third time in her career, holds a 4.0 GPA in Biochemistry. The forward leads the Bears in goals (10), assists (7) and points (27).
Sliwinski, named to the third team two years ago and the second team last season, is a Biology major who maintains a 3.81 GPA. She is second on the team in goals (8) and points (19).
Davis is a first-time All-District selection, who holds a 3.82 GPA in International Studies. She has started all 20 games for the Bears this season, while matching up against the opponent's best offensive player in each contest. She has helped Baylor allow only nine goals and set a program record with 13 shutouts.
With their first-team nominations, Larsen and Sliwinski will be eligible for Academic All-American honors to be announced later this month.
