SAN ANTONIO, Texas -
The 14th-ranked and second-seeded Baylor soccer team will meet eighth-seeded TCU in the final match of the 2012 Big 12 Championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Blossom Soccer Stadium.
The Bears (16-1-4), who are unbeaten in their last 17 matches, will be playing in their first Big 12 title match. To advance to the championship's finale, Baylor shutout No. 7 Oklahoma State, 3-0, on Wednesday, before knocking off third-seeded Texas Tech, 2-1, on Friday.
The Horned Frogs (7-9-4) are just the second eighth-seeded team in the 17-year history of the Big 12 Championship to advance into the final. TCU downed No. 1 seeded West Virginia, 2-0, on Wednesday and then tied No. 4 Texas, 0-0, before advancing in penalty kicks, 4-2 on Friday.
Baylor and TCU met nine days ago in Waco with the Bears taking a 2-0 victory in the final regular-season match for both teams.
BU is 7-0 all-time vs. the Horned Frogs and 6-8-1 in Big 12 Championship play.
