Soccer's Bri Campos Named to All-Big 12 First Team

Nov. 4, 2013

IRVING, Texas - Baylor sophomore forward Bri Campos was named to the All-Big 12 First Team, the league announced Monday.

Voted on by the league's coaches, Campos is the utility person on the 11-person All-Big 12 First Team a year after earning a spot on the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. Her first team nod marks the first for the program since 2006 and eighth overall.

Following a freshman season in 2012 in which Campos had 10 points on four assists and three goals, the Centennial, Colo., native led the Bears in points (15), goals (6), assists (3) and game-winners (2) during the 2013 regular season. A starter in all 18 regular season games, Campos improved her shooting percentage from .086 in 2012 to .146 in 2013 and has put 51.2 percent of her shots on goal this season, compared to her 31.4 percent clip in 2012.

Campos opened the season strong with a goal or assist in five of the first seven matches, including a game-winner against Northwestern State (Aug. 25). She also scored goals in back-to-back matches against West Virginia (Sept. 29) and BYU (Oct. 4) before notching another game-winner last Friday at TCU to cap the regular season.

Campos and the fifth-seeded Bears begin competition at the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. CT against No. 4 Iowa State at Swope Soccer Village.
