INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Baylor soccer team (14-3-3) earned its first selection to the NCAA Championship since 1999, and will host Texas State (14-5-1) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field.
"It was so thrilling to see the excitement on our girl's faces when we saw our name," head coach Marci Jobson said. "The fact that we get to host makes it even more special. We hope Baylor Nation and the community will come out and support us against a tough opponent like Texas State."
The Bears, who earned an at-large bid to the championship, enter the regional after finishing third in the Big 12. Texas State finished second in the Southland during the regular season, but captured the tournament title with a 1-0 win over No. 1 Stephen F. Austin.
The winner of the Baylor/Texas State game will play the winner of North Carolina (11-5-1) and William & Mary (17-2-2) on Friday, Nov. 18 in the Gainesville, Fla. Regional.
The Bears, making their third NCAA appearance in program history, defeated the Bobcats 2-0 at home on Sept. 9.
