KANSAS CITY, Kan. - After helping the Baylor soccer team to the most successful season in program history, senior forward Dana Larsen was named to the 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Third Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Friday.

Larsen joins Courtney Saunders (second team) and Dawn Greathouse (third team), who were both recognized in 1998 as the only Baylor players to be honored on the NSCAA All-America team.

In 2012, Larsen led the Bears with 11 goals, nine assists and 31 points. She provided five game-winning goals, including a golden goal in overtime to knock off Georgetown in the second round of the NCAA Championship.

With Larsen starting 23 of 24 games played, BU posted the best record in program history at 19-1-5. The Bears advanced to the third round of the NCAA Championship for the first time in program history.

During Big 12 play, Larsen had three goals and three assists to push Baylor to its first undefeated (5-0-3) conference season since 1998. She was voted by the league's coaches as an All-Big 12 second-team performer.

At the Big 12 Championship, Larsen tallied one goal and four assists to propel the Bears to their first Big 12 Championship crown. She was named the event's Offensive Most Valuable Player and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.

For her career, Larsen ranks fifth in the Baylor record book with 29 career goals. She is tied for fourth with 17 assists and ranks fourth with 75 points.

The BU senior was just one of four Big 12 players honored, as Oklahoma State goalkeeper Adrianna Franch,Texas Tech forward Janine Beckie and West Virginia defender Bry McCarthy were also recognized.

The All-America accolade comes on the heels of Larsen being named the winner of the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America of the Year award.

All NSCAA All-Americans will be recognized Jan. 19 at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in conjunction with the 2013 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis.
