COMPLETE NSCAA RANKINGS
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Baylor soccer team earned its highest-ever ranking at No. 11 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Postseason National Rankings, which were released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
Baylor's previous high finish was 18th in the 1998 poll, the only other time BU has been in the top-25 to end a season. The Bears also received votes following the 1999 campaign.
Baylor posted the best record in program history with a 19-1-5 mark in 2012. BU was the lone program in the country with only one loss. Baylor's season ended with a 1-1 tie against eventual national champion North Carolina in the third round of the NCAA Championship.
The Bears were the top-ranked team from the Big 12 Conference in the poll, finishing ahead of Texas Tech (No. 25) and West Virginia (RV). BU also ranked ahead of Texas A&M (No. 14), Texas Tech and Stephen F. Austin (RV) to be the highest-ranked program in the state of Texas.
On the year, Baylor was 1-1-2 vs. ranked opponents with a 3-0-1 record against teams listed in the postseason rankings.
Next season, Baylor will return 22 letterwinners and seven starters as Marci Jobson begins her sixth season in Waco.
