Leal joins the Baylor staff after finishing her distinguished two-year playing career as a Lady Bear. Leal was a 2011 third-team All-American as well as second-team All-Region and first-team All-Big 12 selection after guiding Baylor to its second Women's College World Series appearance. A starting shortstop for two seasons, Leal left ranked sixth on BU's all-time home run list.

Leal came to Baylor from Pratt (Kan.) Community College where she was an all-conference selection. Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, Leal was a two-year member of the Mexican National team (2005-06).

Leal will graduate in the spring of 2012 with a degree in general studies.
