Josh Newman returns for his seventh season with the Baylor softball program. Newman worked under the same title from 2001-05 before taking two years off and returning last season. Among his many duties, Newman's responsibilities with the team include coaching the catchers, assisting coach Lumley with the hitters and overseeing the maintenance of the field at Getterman Stadium. During his two year hiatus, Newman taught first grade physical education at First Woodway in Waco. In addition, he was a private hitting instructor and had six athletes sign NCAA Division I scholarships. Newman is a 2004 Baylor graduate with a degree in general studies. He is married to the former Britni Sneed and the couple reside in Waco. |
