PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - The Baylor softball team (8-4) blanked a pair of opponents, outscoring them 15-0, en route to two victories on Friday afternoon at the Cathedral City Classic. The Lady Bears defeated Utah (7-6) 4-0 and followed with an 11-0 smashing of San Diego State (8-6) in five innings.
"Today was a lot of fun," head coach Glenn Moore said. "I thought our second game was the first complete game we played all year and I hope we can continue it into tomorrow."

Courtney Repka picked up her second shutout of the season, going 7.0 innings, allowing four hits, walking five and striking out six.
With one out in the fourth, Vannatta blasted a ball over the center field fence for her team-leading fourth home run of the season. Courntey Nieten followed with a double to the wall, and Kathy Shelton came in to pinch run. Hanafin brought Shelton in to score on a single to center, making it 2-0.
KJ Freeland got a one-out single in the fifth to set the stage for Wesley's blast over the right field wall for her first homer of the year. That put the Lady Bears up by a comfortable 4-0 margin, giving Repka plenty of cushion.
Repka battled in the seventh, as the bases loaded with two outs, but she got Foster to swing at a 3-2 pitch to end the game and earn the shutout.

Baylor recorded 12 hits en route to an 11-0 blasting of San Diego Statein five innings in game two Friday.
Repka (7-2) was solid in the circle, going 3.1, allowing two hits, walking one and striking out three.
Courtney Nieten delivered an RBI-single that scored Walker for a 1-0 lead after the top of the first.
Baylor added three more in the second, beginning with a single from Shelton that led off the inning. With one out, KJ Freeland reached on a throwing error and advanced to second, allowing Turk, who walked to reach third and for Shelton to score. T. Wesley added an RBI-single and Vannatta registered a sac fly to give Baylor a 4-0 lead.
Shelton led off the third with another Shelton single, and Turk followed up with a single of her own. Freeland and T. Wesley added RBI-singles, while Walker singled for two RBI for an 8-0 lead.
The Lady Bears polished off the scoring, as Turk doubled to score Shelton, who singled. That set the stage for Leal to hammer her third home run of the season, a two run shot over left field to put the game at 11-0. Whitney Canion came on in relief of Repka, striking out two in 1.2 innings.
The Lady Bears will be back in action Saturday, taking on Cal State Fullerton at 12:30 p.m. and No. 3 UCLA at 3:00 p.m. CT.
