PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - The Baylor softball team (8-4) blanked a pair of opponents, outscoring them 15-0, en route to two victories on Friday afternoon at the Cathedral City Classic. The Lady Bears defeated Utah (7-6) 4-0 and followed with an 11-0 smashing of San Diego State (8-6) in five innings.

"Today was a lot of fun," head coach Glenn Moore said. "I thought our second game was the first complete game we played all year and I hope we can continue it into tomorrow."

Tiffany Wesley totaled four RBI, while Wesley, Walker and Kathy Shelton each totaled three hits on the day.

Game One

The Lady Bears used a pair of home runs by Jordan Vannatta and Tiffany Wesley to defeat Utah 4-0 in game one Friday morning.

Courtney Repka picked up her second shutout of the season, going 7.0 innings, allowing four hits, walking five and striking out six.

With one out in the fourth, Vannatta blasted a ball over the center field fence for her team-leading fourth home run of the season. Courntey Nieten followed with a double to the wall, and Kathy Shelton came in to pinch run. Hanafin brought Shelton in to score on a single to center, making it 2-0.

KJ Freeland got a one-out single in the fifth to set the stage for Wesley's blast over the right field wall for her first homer of the year. That put the Lady Bears up by a comfortable 4-0 margin, giving Repka plenty of cushion.

Repka battled in the seventh, as the bases loaded with two outs, but she got Foster to swing at a 3-2 pitch to end the game and earn the shutout.
