Game One

Kansas jumped out early with three runs on four hits in first inning. Two runs crossed when KU had runners at first and third and forced throws to second, scoring the runner from third, while Allie Clark added an RBI-double.

Two more runs came across in the second for Kansas, aided by a pair of errors by the Lady Bears, and the Jayhawks took a 5-0 lead.

Baylor added one in the third, as an error by the shortstop on a grounder by Megan Turk allowed KJ Freeland to motor from second and score after replacing Brette Reagan, who doubled.

Baylor brought the deficit to just two in the fifth, as Turk blasted her first career home run over the left field fence, making the game 5-3.

Kansas answered right back in the fifth with a two-run shot of its own by Allie Clark, giving KU a 7-3 lead.
