WACO, Texas - Baylor's three seniors capped off a great home career, as the No. 25 Lady Bears (33-19, 10-13) completed the sweep over Iowa State (14-36, 2-19) with a 7-1 victory Sunday afternoon at Getterman Stadium.

The three BU seniors, Kayce Walker, Megan Turk and Sydney Wilson combined for three of the team's six RBI while scoring three of the seven runs.

"I am so proud of these three seniors and what they have accomplished over their four years," head coach Glenn Moore. "They are such great, young women who will do great things with their lives. We wanted to win today for them, and we did that. We can now take a couple days and get refocused on the rest of our season."

Holly Holl and Jordan Strickland led the way with two hits and an RBI apiece, while Walker added a pair of RBI. Holl extended her on-base streak to 12 games, while Walker's hit put her in a tie with Chelsi Lake for third on BU's all-time hit list with 227.

Baylor, which scored a combined 10 runs in the first innings of the series, tallied three in the bottom of the first. Kathy Shelton began with a single, and reached third on a single from Holl before being brought on by an RBI-single from Kaitlyn Thumann. A Turk sac fly made it 2-0 before a Jordan Strickland RBI-single to right gave BU its three-run cushion.

The Cyclones cut the Baylor lead to two in the fourth with their first and only run of the series. A Jordan Smith double put runners on second and third , bringing Liz Paul in from the bullpen for BU. Anna Cole promptly singled through the left side to make it 3-1, but to infield pop ups ended the threat for Iowa State.

The Lady Bears put the game away in the bottom half of the inning, pouring on four more runs, all with two outs. Wilson got the rally going after being hit by a pitch with a 2-2 count, and Shelton followed with a walk to load the bases. Walker came through in her final home game for a two-RBI single and a 5-1 lead. Baylor wasn't done however, as Holl singled to right field, scoring Shelton and Walker for the six-run advantage.

Paul (11-7) picked up the relief win, going 3.2 innings, allowing three hits, no runs and one walk. Courtney Repka went 3.2 innings, giving up three hits, one run and three walks in the start.

As a class, the seniors wrapped up their home careers with an 85-29 (75 percent) mark at Getterman Stadium.

The Lady Bears will wrap up regular season play on Sunday, May 13 at No. 8 Texas (41-10, 15-8) at 1:00 p.m.
