WACO, Texas - Baylor baseball and softball season tickets will be on sale through Sunday at a special discounted price of $57 for adults and $25 for youth age 2-17.
Waco's high temperature on Friday, as recorded by weather.com, was 57 degrees, which established the adult season ticket price. The youth ticket price was set at $25 because Friday's low temperature was 25 degrees.
This weeklong promotion offers a significant discount on the regular prices of general admission season tickets. Adults will save $42 per season ticket at baseball and $18 per season ticket at softball, while youth benefit the most with a $40 reduction at baseball and a $50 savings with softball.
"Central Texans have responded well to our football and basketball ticket promotions, and we believe that this offer for the 2012 baseball and softball seasons will also be well received, " said Baylor's Executive Associate A.D./External Affairs Nick Joos. "Baylor Ballpark and Getterman Stadium will be the place to be this spring, and we look forward to having great crowds in both venues to cheer on the Bears and Lady Bears."
Fans can purchase season tickets at the discounted price online, in person at the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office or via phone by calling 254.710.1000. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a limit of four tickets per order and a $20 service charge will also be assessed. The discounted season ticket promotion runs through Sunday.
Baylor's baseball team is one of 14 programs nationally to play in 12 NCAA Tournaments since 1998, and the Lady Bears softball team is coming off its second Women's College World Series appearance. Head coach Glenn Moore's softball team opens the season Feb. 10 at Getterman Stadium, and head coach Steve Smith's baseball squad begins play Feb. 17 at Baylor Ballpark.
