Record Eight TV Broadcasts in 2014 for Softball Slated

WACO, Texas - The 2014 Baylor softball team will be getting plenty of regional and national television time during the regular season, with a record eight games scheduled for telecast. The No. 16/18 Lady Bears televised slate includes two national broadcasts on ESPN networks and six on Fox Sports networks.

Baylor will take on No. 10 Texas March 23 at 6 p.m. on ESPNU, and the team will face defending national champion and No. 2 Oklahoma, April 12 at 4 p.m. on ESPN.

The contests between BU and Texas March 22, vs. OU April 13, North Texas April 15, a doubleheader with Louisiana April 22 and vs. Kansas April 26 will be carried on either Fox Sports Southwest or FSSW+. Baylor's first game of the three-game series with Oklahoma April 11 will be televised on Fox College Sports.

"We're pleased with this year's television schedule as it shows hype and respect for the sport," said Baylor head coach Glenn Moore. "Any opportunity for that amount of exposure is a plus, and it helps our recruiting efforts and promotes the university and our program."

Baylor begins the 2014 campaign Friday vs. No. 3 Washington at 10 a.m. and vs. San Diego at 12:15 p.m. in the first day of the Sportco Kick-Off Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.
