WACO, TX - Baylor Athletics and Baylor Softball are hosting an exhibition game featuring The King and His Court professional softball team at Getterman Stadium Wednesday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.
Special guests on the Baylor team will include Dr. Robert Sloan, Darren Taylor from 97.5 FM, Rob Reed from 92.9 FM, KXXV Ch. 25's Vince Erickson, KWTX Ch. 10's Dan Ingham and many more. The Baylor team's coaches will be Tom Barfield and Butch Henry from 1660 ESPN Radio.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids 18 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Floyd Casey Ticket Office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or on the day of the game at Baylor Ballpark Ticket Office beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The King and His Court is a four-man softball team that began touring in 1946. Eddie Feigner (a.k.a. the King) was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Softball Hall of Fame in 1998. To commemorate his 80th birthday and long-awaited biography, "From an Orphan to a King", The King and His Court will make a one-time appearance in Waco.
The Sports Authority (formerly Oshman's) on Highway 6 and I-35 will host a book-signing featuring Eddie Feigner and the Court from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19.
The King's Court includes featured pitcher Rich Hoppe, catcher Dave Booth, short-stop Jack Knight and the King's wife, Anne Marie Feigner. Baylor Head Softball Coach, Glenn Moore, was a member of The Court from 1990-92.
