WACO - Baylor University will host the seventh annual Heart of Texas Community Tailgate Party, a free event for families that features Baylor baseball and softball games, food and activities on Saturday, April 13, at Getterman Stadium and Baylor Ballpark.
The event will get under way at 1 p.m. with inflatables, carnival games and lunch at the ballpark featuring free hamburgers from the Jack in the Box food truck, hot dogs, Dr Pepper products and Bluebell ice cream. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Free general admission tickets to the Baylor softball and baseball games - while supplies last - will be available starting at 1 p.m. Baylor softball will play Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. at Getterman Stadium, while Baylor baseball will face Oklahoma at 3 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark.
"Baylor University welcomes our friends and neighbors to campus for a great day of food and fun at the ballpark," said Jana L. Hixson, director of community relations at Baylor. "The Heart of Texas Community Tailgate Party has become a very popular event, and we look forward to celebrating the great partnership we have with the Waco community."
