Game Notes for ULL & UTSA

WACO, Texas - The No. 14 Baylor (32-10, 6-4 Big 12) softball team begins its busy week with a televised doubleheader against Louisiana (33-7-1) Tuesday at 4 p.m. and will play on the road at UTSA Wednesday at 6 p.m. before playing host to Kansas for a three-game Big 12 series Friday-Sunday.

Stearns 1-Hits UTSA to Help No. 12 SB to 4-1 Tourney
Heather Stearns' 1-hitter lifted Baylor to a 2-1 win over UTSA Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Gulf Coast Classic.

The Lady Bears are coming off a series win at Oklahoma State where they dropped the opener Thursday before two consecutive run-rule victories over the Cowgirls Friday and Saturday. Jordan Strickland highlighted Baylor's weekend with four home runs and 12 RBI. She homered twice in consecutive games in BU's Friday and Saturday.

Baylor will try to avenge a loss to Louisiana Tuesday in a doubleheader scheduled to be televised on Fox Sports Southwest for Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas viewers. The games will also be televised on Fox College Sports Atlantic, and the state of Oklahoma will get game one on FSSW Plus.

The Rajin' Cajuns defeated Baylor in a slugfest Feb. 28 at the Gulf Coast Classic Tournament in Gulfport, Miss. The Lady Bears trailed 9-2 before storming back, and BU had a chance to win with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but came up short. ULL comes into the DH ranked No. 17.

UTSA (20-26) will play host to Baylor at 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Field; The Lady Bears and Roadrunners also faced each other at the Gulf Coast Classic where BU's Heather Stearns one-hit UTSA helping Baylor take a 2-1 win March 2.

The Lady Bears will then play host to the Jayhawks (29-16, 3-6 Big 12) Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at Noon. Saturday's game will also be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
