SERIES
Despite Houston winning two of the the last three, Baylor won the last meeting between the two programs, a 6-4 win in game two on April 12, 2011 in Waco.

HOLL HEATING UP
Junior Holly Holl has been heating up the last six games, hitting .477 with two homers, two doubles and eight RBI to go with a .941 slugging percentage. Holl had a career night in a 7-3, 10-inning win at Texas State on April 9, tying a season high three hits along with tying a career high with four RBI, homering and adding a double.

UNDERCLASSMEN OVERPERFORMING
The Lady Bears’ underclassmen have been a vital part of the team’s offensive success in 2013. Of the 170 RBI on the year, 113 (66%) have come from underclassmen. Underclassmen have also accounted for 17 of the team’s 24 home runs, with freshmen totaling 12.

THE THUMANN SHOW
When coach Moore inserted Kaitlyn Tumann into the lineup on April 21, 2012 in Lubbock, little did he know what a gem he had found. Used mostly as a pinch runner, the Katy, Texas, native, went 4-4 with a home run and closed out the final 14 games hitting .488. Since being inserted to the lineup, she hasn’t missed a game and over the last 56 games she is hitting .412 (77-for-187) with 11 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 31 RBI and 38 steals.

On the offensive side, Baylor is 26th in the nation with 1.79 steals/game while Kathy Shelton is 14th (0.70 steals/game) and Kaitlyn Thumann is 30th (0.58 steals/game).

SHELTON LOOKING TO SWIPE ANOTHER

Whitney Canion broke the all-time wins record of 82, previosuly held by Lisa Ferguson (2004-07) and now has 86 for her career.

HOME RUNS RETURN
Baylor’s 24 home runs after 45 games has surpassed the 14 hit in all 56 games of the 2012 season.
