Baylor had nine first-team selections to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Softball Team

WACO, Texas - The Baylor softball team placed nine out of 47 members on Thursday's 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Softball Team including three Lady Bears with 4.0 grade point averages: Whitney Canion, Robin Landrith and Liz Paul.

First-team honorees consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 GPA or better while the second-team selections hold a GPA between 3.0-3.19. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible and players must have completed two previous semesters at the institution and participated in 60 percent of the team's games for the season.

Canion, Paul and Landrith were joined by Linsey Hays, Holly Holl, Heather Stearns, Jordan Strickland, Kaitlyn Thumann and Justine Young on the first team. All nine Lady Bears honored qualified for first team.
