ANN ARBOR, Mich. -
The Baylor softball team (40-20) will continue its quest for a second trip to the Women's College World Series as it takes on No. 6 Michigan (44-10) beginning on Friday at 7:00 p.m. CT at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor. The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and if the series is tied, meet for the deciding game at 3:30 p.m. All games will be carried on ESPN.
The Lady Bears swept through their regional, en route to the program's third regional title, with two wins over No. 21 Louisiana-Lafayette and a victory over Texas State. Baylor is now 16-10 all-time in the NCAA Championships and enters with a 3-3 record at super regionals.
The Wolverines, who are the No. 5 national seed, enter the championship with a 44-10 record after sweeping through their home regional with victories over Miami (Ohio) and a pair over No. 25 Notre Dame. Nikki Nemitz and Jordan Taylor are the two-headed pitching duo for Michigan, combining for every decision to go with 549 strikeouts in 372.2 innings and a 1.13 ERA. Offensively, Amanda Chidester is hitting a team-leading .359 with seven home runs and 36 RBI.
