Softball Staff Earns Regional Award

Glenn Moore and his coaching staff earned NFCA Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year for the third time.

STARKVILLE, Miss. - For the third time in five seasons, the Baylor softball coaching staff was recognized as the NFCA Division I Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced. The staff previously earned the award in 2009 and 2007.

The Baylor coaching staff, comprised of head coach Glenn Moore, associate head coach Mark Lumley and assistant coach Britni Sneed Newman, were selected for the honor after leading the Lady Bears to the national semifinals, their fourth regional title, second super regional win and a 47-15 record. Baylor finished the season ranked fourth in both the Softball and USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Polls, the highest final ranking in program history.

A number of players received individual honors under the coaching of this year's staff, as two student-athletes earned NFCA All-American honors and five Lady Bears were named to the All-Big 12 team.

The Arizona State coaching staff, which led the Sun Devils to the 2011 national title, was named NFCA Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year.
