Women's Tennis Falls To No. 15 Vanderbilt, 4-3

THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas -
The 18th-ranked women's tennis team fell to No. 15 Vanderbilt, 4-3, on Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center.

In doubles action, the Baylor duo of Victoria Kisialeva and Blair Shankle claimed the first win over Lauren Mira and Ashleigh Antal, 8-2. Meanwhile, the pairing of Ema Burgic and Alex Clay were defeated by Georgina Sellyn and Astra Sharma, 8-4. Vanderbilt clinched the point as BU's Kiah Generette and Alex Leatu fell to Marie Casares and Courtney Colton, 8-4.

In singles action, Shankle placed Baylor's first point on the board with a win against Antal, 6-1, 6-0 on court 5. Following the victory, Megan Horter was defeated by Casares, 6-0, 6-1, on court 6. Burgic snagged a win over Lauren Mira, 6-1, 6-3, and the 57th-ranked Generette beat out 48th-ranked Sellyn, 6-3, 6-0.

Holding a 3-2 lead in the match, Baylor couldn't find a fourth point.

Despite winning the first set, Kisialeva fell to Frances Altick, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, on court 4. Meanwhile on on court 3, Jordaan Sanford could not get past the 124th-ranked Colton, 6-1, 0-6, 6-4.

The Lady Bears now hold a 7-2 record on the season and Commodores lead the all-time series, 6-1.
