HOUSTON, Texas - No. 38 Baylor women's tennis swept Rice, 4-0, to claim its third-straight dual match victory at George R. Brown Tennis Center on Tuesday night.
Fresh off of back-to-back ranked wins against 11th-ranked Ohio State and 32nd-ranked Washington, the Bears continued their momentum with the doubles result. Freshman Dominika Sujova and sophomore Angelina Shakhraichuk made quick work of Anna Bowtell and Savannah Durkin, 6-2, on court three, before the Owls, evened the score with a 6-2 win on court two.
With the point up for grabs, a battle ensued on court one. Freshman Kris Sorokolet and sophomore Jessica Hinojosa edged 24th-ranked Lindsey Hodge and Wendy Zhang, 7-6 (7-5). It marked the second ranked win for the duo of the season.
Sophomore Camilla Abbate opened singles play with her fifth consecutive victory on court three, 6-1, 6-2, against Fernanda Astete to push Baylor's lead to 2-0. Freshman Livia Kraus notched her 14th win of the season, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 6 singles against Priya Niezgoda.
Sophomore Angelina Shakhraichuk clinched the team result for the Bears, besting Savannah Durkin on court four, 6-3, 6-1.

After adding a dual match to the schedule, Baylor hosts Incarnate Word and 37th-ranked Michigan in doubleheader action on Friday, March 9 at Hurd Tennis Center. The Bears face the Cardinals at 10 a.m. (CT), followed by the Wolverines at 5 p.m.
