"Corpus Christi is a good team, a lot better than I anticipated. Their coaching staff, Steve Moore, they've done an amazing job. I had no idea that they'd be this good. The score, in tennis, lies all the time. The matches were very competitive, from start to finish. The doubles, the score didn't lie there, you could see that it was tight. Then in singles, they're tough competitors. They put a lot of balls in the court and make you work. We needed that. We really needed this kind of match." - Head coach Joey Scrivano on the match against TAMU-CC.

"We have a lot of respect for Rice. They're one of the better teams out there. We played them twice, played them early in the season and it was a competitive match and then we played them in Houston, and I don't know how we won that match, to be honest. We didn't play our best that day, but at the same time Rice is just really, really good." - Scrivano on facing Rice.

The Lady Bears will take on 20th-ranked Rice (18-6) on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center. Baylor has defeated the Owls twice this season. The last time these two teams met, BU took down Rice, 4-3, at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium on April 9.
