BALTIMORE - Senior Jahnavi Parekh lost in her second round match Friday in the main draw of the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships.

Parekh, the No. 2 seed and the No. 13 player in the nation, fell to No. 44 Mira Radu of Mississippi, 7-5, 6-2. The loss ends Parekh' short run at the tournament, she had previously won her first round match-up on Thursday against No. 96 Carolina Mayorga of Kentucky, 6-3, 6-3.

In the singles consolation bracket, junior Katja Kovac, ranked No. 51 in the country, defeated Delphine Troch of William & Mary in the first round, 7-6 (5), 6-1. In the consolation quarterfinals Friday afternoon, Kovac bounced back after losing the first set to defeat Raluca Culei of VCU, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. She now advances to the consolation semifinals on Saturday.

Also in consolation play, sophomore Vida Mulec advanced to the quarterfinals in a walkover when her opponent, Antonella Pozzi of Virginia Tech, pulled out due to injury. Mulec got a second win the consolation quarterfinals when her opponent again retired with an injury, this time, it was Carlijn Buis of William & Mary pulling out and allowing Mulec to advance to the consolation semifinals.

In the first consolation doubles round, Baylor's 19th-ranked team of Kovac and Mulec defeated Pacific's Barthell/D'Audney in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to the consolation semifinals on Saturday.
