BALTIMORE - After byes in her first two consolation rounds, Baylor women's tennis player Vida Mulec won Saturday to advance to the consolation finals of the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships.

Mulec fought through a tough match to defeat 33rd-ranked Kristy Dascoli of Ohio State, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2), 6-4. In the consolation finals on Sunday, Mulec will face 45th-ranked Kara Maloney of Cincinnati. Maloney defeated Baylor's Katja Kovac in the consolation semifinals on Saturday, 4-6, 7-6(6), 7-6(6).

In the doubles consolation semifinals, Baylor's 19th-ranked team of Kovac and Mulec lost to 40th-ranked DeRoo/Radu of Mississippi, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-3.
