Women's Tennis Continues Play At Jack Kramer Intercollegiate

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. - The Baylor women's tennis doubles duo of Victoria Kisialeva and Blair Shankle advanced to the quarterfinals at the Jack Kramer Intercollegiate on Friday. Meanwhile, Kiah Generette's run ended at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing, New York.

Kisialeva and Shankle, the event's No. 1 seed, shutout the San Diego duo of Anna Depenau and Mikayla Morkel-Brink, 8-0. The BU pair is now 9-1 on the season and will face sixth-seed Michaela Capannolo and Yuki Chiang of Pepperdine at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Generette fell to 7-4 on the year with a 6-0, 6-2 loss to third-ranked Lauren Herring of Georgia in the first round of consolation round action at the national indoor event.

Back in California in singles, Kisialeva opened the day with a round of 16 singles win when San Diego's Shani Blecher, retired with injury, trailing 6-4, 2-1. Kisialeva then dropped a 0-6, 7-6, 7-6 decision to 30th-ranked Stefanie Tan of TCU in the quarterfinals.

Shankle faltered in the round of 16 of singles play with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 loss to Yuki Chiang of Pepperdine.

Meanwhile in California consolation play, Makenzie Craft took part in two matches. She dropped the first one to UC-Santa Barbara's Stacy Yam, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0(7), before rebounding to take a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Miho Kowase of Ohio State in her second match of the day.
