WACO, Texas - After losing her first match of the tournament, freshman Carolin Walter won six straight matches in the Fall Desert Collegiate Classic at the Desert Princess Country Club to win the championship of the consolation bracket.

Walter, a freshman from Bingen, Germany, quickly defeated USC's Judy Devera, also a freshman, 6-2, 6-4.

The Baylor women' tennis team has now completed fall tournament play. They will begin their spring season on Friday, Jan. 23 when they play at Vanderbilt.
