WACO, Texas - The 19th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team welcomes the second-ranked Florida Gators to the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Both teams are coming into the match undefeated. After a victory against Penn State, the Lady Bears are now 6-0 on the season with No. 38 Kiah Generette in singles and 37th-ranked duo of Victoria Kisialeva and Blair Shankle in doubles. BU has three players who are unbeaten singles play, including Jordaan Sanford (5-0), Shankle (5-0) and Kisialeva (5-0). The Lady are 2-0 against ranked foes this season.
Florida is 3-0 on the season and has six ranked singles players: No. 17 Olivia Janowicz, No. 18 Brianna Morgan, No. 23 Alex Cercone, No. 27 Sofie Oyen, No. 36 Belinda Woolcock, and No. 39 Kourtney Keegan. In doubles action, the Gators have No. 32 Woolcock and Oyen, who have not competed together in the regular season.
The last time these two teams met, Florida defeated Baylor, 7-0, on Feb. 2, 2013, in Gainesville, Fla. The Lady Bears are 0-5 in the all-time series against the Gators.
Prior to the match, Baylor's staff and players will host another session of the Baylor Cub Tennis program at noon. Children 11 years of age and younger are invited to come receive free instruction at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
