WACO, Texas -The 15th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will travel to College Station, Texas to face No. 10 Texas A&M at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
After their upset against No. 7 Northwestern, 5-2, on Sunday, the Lady Bears enter the match with an 8-2 record on the season. Baylor is led by 59th-ranked Kiah Generette who has compiled a 7-2 record in dual-match play. The BU tandem Victoria Kisialeva and Blair Shankle, having lost only one match this season; will compete in doubles play with an 8-1 record.
The Lady Bears are 4-2 against ranked opponents. Baylor hasn't played on the road since defeating Hawaii, 6-1, on Jan. 11 in the season opener.
Texas A&M is 5-2 on the season and has three ranked singles players: No. 19 Cristina Stancu, No. 47 Saska Gavrilovska and No. 103 Anna Mamalat. In doubles action, the Aggies are led by No. 18 Stefania Hristov and Cristina Stancu and No. 56 Rutuja Bhosale and Ines Deheza.
The last time these two teams met, the Aggies defeated Baylor, 4-2, on April 3, 2013, in Waco. The Lady Bears are 20-21 in the all-time series against Texas A&M.
After the match, the Lady Bears will be back in action at home on March 2 when they open Big 12 play vs. Texas Tech at 1 p.m.
