WACO, Texas - The 18th-ranked women's tennis team will travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to face a pair of top-ten opponents over the next two days. The Lady Bears will take on No. 3 UCLA on Monday at 3:30 p.m. and No. 6 USC on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Baylor, now 9-3 on the season, enters the road trip following a 6-1 victory over 48th-ranked Texas Tech. The 42nd-ranked tandem of Victoria Kisialeva and Blair Shankle is BU's most successful pairing, owning a 9-1 mark in dual match play.
UCLA (10-1) is coming off a 5-2 win over USC. The Bruins' lineup features five ranked players: No. 3 Robin Anderson, No. 9 Chanelle Van Nguyen, No. 19 Jennifer Brady, No. 36 Kyle McPhillips and No. 50 Catherine Harrison.
In doubles action, the Bruins have three top-25 teams. No. 1 Jennifer Brady and Robin Anderson lead the team with an 8-0 record in dual match play. The lineup also features No. 11 Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips and No. 16 Jennifer Brady and Catherine Harrison.
The Lady Bears lead 5-3 in the all-time series against UCLA. The last time these two teams met, UCLA defeated Baylor, 4-0, on Feb. 19, 2012, in Waco.
After the loss to UCLA, USC enters the match with a 9-2 record. The Trojans are led by No. 17 Sabrina Santamaria, No. 30 Zoe Scandalis, No. 65 Giuliana Olmos and No. 80 Zoe Katz. In doubles, USC has three ranked teams: No. 6 Zoe Scandalis and Giuliana Olmos, No. 8 Zoe Katz and Brynn Boren and No. 19 Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria.
BU is 3-1 in the all-time series against USC. The last time these two teams met, the Trojans defeated Baylor, 4-1, on May 17, 2012, in Athens, Ga. The Lady Bears are 2-0 all-time on the Trojans' home court, winning in 2006 and 2010.
After the match against USC, the Lady Bears will travel to Coral Gables, Fla., to face No. 13 Miami on March 15 at 3 p.m.
