Women's Tennis Faces No. 56 TCU

WACO, Texas - The 16th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to continue Big 12 play vs. 56th-ranked TCU at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

"TCU and Baylor have a long rivalry and great history of competing against each other," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "Anytime you play them whether women's tennis or football, it's a big event. We're excited to get back to Big 12 play and it's important for us to stay on the right track and continue to do what we're doing."

Baylor (14-6, 3-0) recently downed Memphis, 6-1, on Thursday at the Hurd Tennis Center. After securing the doubles point for the fourth straight match, 34th-ranked Kiah Generette clinched the match for BU, improving her record to 12-6 in dual-match play.

Led by Generette, Baylor's lineup features three more ranked players: No. 48 Jordaan Sanford, No. 74 Ema Burgic and No. 103 Blair Shankle. Sanford and Shankle have each won four matches against ranked opponents to improve to 15-2 and 14-1, respectively. Burgic has compiled a 6-5 record in dual-match play and 3-0 mark in conference action.

On the doubles side, the 40th-ranked tandem of Victoria Kisialeva and Shankle are BU's most successful pairing, owning a 10-3 dual-match mark.

TCU (10-9, 1-2) is coming off a 4-0 victory against West Virginia. Led by 59th-ranked Stefanie Tan, who is 12-3 in dual match and 3-2 in conference action, the Horned Frogs hold a 6-2 record at home.

TCU's lineup also features No. 121 Simona Parajova, who is 13-2 in dual-match play. Millie Nichols and Seda Arantekin make up TCU's 77th-ranked doubles team, owning a 3-2 record at the top of the lineup.

The Lady Bears are 14-16 in the all-time series against TCU. The last time these two teams met, BU fell to TCU, 4-2, at the Hurd Tennis Center the on March 27, 2013.

After Wednesday's match, the Lady Bears will travel to Lawrence, Kan. to take on Kansas at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
