TULSA, Okla. -

Lenka Broosova, Taylor Ormond and Zuzana Zemenova all won first round matches in the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championships which started on Wednesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

No. 18 Broosova won her morning match, downing No. 23 Nadia Abdala of Arizona State 6-1, 6-0. The win is the 19th-straight overall for Broosova, and the ninth-consecutive win in straight sets. In those nine matches, Broosova has only lost 20 games overall. She will now face third-seeded Hilary Barte of Stanford on Thursday. Barte defeated No. 36 Elena Gantcheva (UNLV) by a 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 score. Zemenova defeated Barte 6-4, 6-2 in Baylor's quarterfinal match against the Cardinal last Saturday.

With the win, Broosova improves her overall record to 50-4 on the season. Already holding the women's tennis single-season wins record for singles play, Broosova now owns the Baylor tennis program singles wins record. In 2002-03 Benedikt Dorsch set the previous record with 49 wins in a single season.
