WACO, Texas - Baylor women's tennis head coach Joey Scrivano announced the promotion of Alison Ojeda to Associate Head Coach on Friday.

Ojeda, who will begin her third season with the program in 2012-13, has been an integral part of the Lady Bears' success both on and off the court, as well as recruiting.

"It's a well-deserved promotion for Alison, and a great day for our program," Scrivano said. "She has built a very impressive resume', and understands what it takes to have success at the collegiate level and works tirelessly to achieve it. She's an important member of our program and it's a privilege to work with her. We're looking forward to the challenge of a new season and trying to build a championship team."

In her two years as an assistant coach at Baylor, Ojeda has helped Baylor to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Round of 16 and a two-year combined record of 54-12. In 2011, Baylor won the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles.

Also contributing a big hand in player development in her two years, Ojeda has helped lead Baylor players to five ITA All-America awards, three NCAA All-Tournament team honors and 10 All-Big 12 honors.

Ojeda came to Baylor in 2010 after five seasons at the helm of Middle Tennessee State, where she helped the Blue Raiders to their first winning season in six previous seasons and a spot in the ITA national team rankings. During her playing days at Tennessee, Ojeda served as the team captain of UT's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Final Four and is the only player in Lady Vols' history to earn more than 100 wins in both singles and doubles.
